Roots
The best resources I’ve come across can be found here. The roots of my success.
First of all, check out Set Godin’s blog.
Seth is a great business man. You’ll receive periodic short words of wisdom if you subscribe to his blog.
The roots for achieving my first goal, the standards and design-process presentation, came in the form of many books
-
CSS and Standards
-
Designing with Web Standards
Jeffrey Zeldman
Jeffrey is the God Father of web standards. Surprisingly entertaining!
-
Transcending CSS: The Fine Art of Web Design
Andy Clarke
A great book not just on CSS but also on web design in general, including grid-based design. Not for CSS beginners.
-
The Zen of CSS Design
Dave Shea and Molly E. Holzsclag
Discusses some designs from the website. Definitely a good read for beginners and old hands since the designs are so well done.
-
Beginning JavaScript with Dom Scripting and Ajax
Christian Heilmann
I’m only halfway through this one, but it’s good. JavaScript just isn’t my top priority. I’ll definitely will finish it though.

-
User Experience Design
-
Designing the Obvious
Robert Hoekman
A short, insightful read. I’ll pass this around the office.

About Face 3.0
Alan Cooper
This one is long. I’m writing notes as I go through. Alan Cooper is the first name that comes to mind when I think of usability and this is the main book I’m relying on for an incredible usability portion of the presentation.
