About
Who Am I?
I’m a guy from the midwest who’s interested in the web, standards, and creating useful websites.
What Do I Do?
I work for in a small group, specializing in creating multimedia for the civil engineering industry, at a major university.
Why Does It Matter?
My short term goal is to become an expert in web design. My long term goal is to become an international success. I’m just starting out…a sapling if you will. I want to become a superstar. A sequoia. I’m going to chronicle how I do it, tell you what I’m reading, and what I’m learning. I’ll give you the best of what I come across on my journey.
This is a real time look at a person making it big.
Why Have a Website?
I’m fairly new to web development and I’m trying to get it right. Following web standards. Focusing on user goals. Designing good web applications. The blog documents my growth into the field and hopefully how I will start my own business or somehow “make it big”. The site in general gives me a place to test out concepts.
Moreover, the site will keep me focused on progressing further as a designer and as a businessman. Although this will be my personal story, hopefully the posts will be useful to you as well, whether a designer or an entrepreneur (or both!)
The real reason for this website is to keep me focused on learning. I’m just not satisfied if I’m not learning something new. A public log of what I’m learning will help me make sure I’m focusing on the right things. Plus, this website may eventually turn into a business or even just a useful reference for future employers to check out my skills.
